On December 15, the RA National Assembly continued the work of the extraordinary session and by voting passed the bills debated on the previous day. Afterwards the deputies continued debating in the first reading “On Amending the RA Law on Treatment of the Arrestees and the Detainees.” The deputies addressed numerous questions and recommendations to the key speaker, the RA Deputy Minister of Justice Arman Tatoyan.

During the exchange of thoughts the deputies Hovhannes Margaryan, Artashes Geghamyan, Heghine Bisharyan submitted their recommendations and concerns, touched upon the problems existing in detention centres and prison conditions.

Mikayel Melkumyan has informed that the NA Prosperous Armenia Faction will vote for the draft law.

Summing up the debate Arman Tatoyan referred to the deputies’ concerns, gave clarifications and noted that a number of systemized problems will be solved with the proposed amendment.

Afterwards the draft laws “On Amending the RA Civil Code” and “On Amending the RA Judicial Code” submitted by the RA Deputy Minister of Justice Arman Tatoyan were debated.

The draft law “On Amending the RA Law on State Duty” was debated in the second reading.

The RA Deputy Minister of Culture Artur Poghosyan in the first reading submitted for debate the draft law “On the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Armenia.”

The NA deputies Tigran Urikhanyan, Vahan Babayan, Zaruhi Postanjyan, Heghine Bisharyan, Vahe Enfiajyan and Ruzanna Muradyan delivered speeches on the bill.

Artur Poghosyan also presented in the first reading the bill “On Amending the RA Law on the Flag of the Republic of Armenia.”

The parliament in the first reading debated the package of bills “On Amending the RA Law on Licensing,” “On Amending the RA Law on Television and Radio” and “On Amending the RA Law on State Duty,” which presented the RA First Deputy Minister of Transport and Communication Artur Arakelyan.

The parliament debated in the second reading and for completely passing the draft law “On Amending the RA Law on Refugees and Asylum,” which presented the RA First Deputy Minister of the RA Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations.”

The RA Deputy Minister of Agriculture Robert Makaryan submitted for debate in the first reading the package of the RA draft laws “On Agricultural Cooperatives” and “On Amending the RA Civil Code.”

The National Assembly will continue the work of the extraordinary session on December 16.
