On May 6, the regular plenary sitting of the Youth parliament adjunct to the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport was held.

At the beginning of the sitting the young MPs in one-minute silence paid tribute to the memory of the Armenian servicemen and civilians who were perished as a consequence of Azerbaijan’s provoking actions on the Karabakh-Azerbaijani line of contact at the beginning of April.

The pupils of the 24-hour School of the Town of Milda and the Member of the Bundestag of the German Federal Republic Albert Weiler took part in the sitting of the Youth Parliament.

The Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Artak Davtyan briefly presented the German MP’s pro-Armenian activities.

Welcoming the members of the Youth Parliament the Member of the Bundestag Albert Weiler in his word particularly has noted that the youngsters’ contacts and mutual visits lay in the basis of the continuity of the nations’ friendship: that is the reason that this time a group of schoolchildren of his native Town of Milda visited Armenia. During their stay in Armenia the German schoolchildren will have opportunity to get acquainted with the History of the Armenian People and the centuries-old culture. The newly created German-Armenian Forum gives opportunity to expand the ties, create new contacts and call into life many new programmes. Albert Weiler has expressed his gratitude to Artak Davtyan for the given opportunity and has noted that the German-Armenian Forum is involved in the cultural, educational economic issues, as well as interested in the peaceful settlement process of Nagorno Karabakh issue. Albert Weiler also talked about the Resolution on the Adoption of the Armenian Genocide in the coming months. At the end of the meeting the German MP gladly answered the questions of the members of the Youth Parliament.

Afterwards the young MPs by voting passed the draft laws on Amendments to the RA Law on State Allowances and on Amendments to the RA Law on Advocacy.

The young MPs debated the draft law on Amendments to the RA Law on the Medical Aid and Service of the Population.

The young MP Artashes Khalatyan presented the package of the draft laws on Amendments to the RA Administrative Procedure Code.

The RA draft law on Amendment to the Income Tax authored by Edgar Hakobyan was also debated.

The young MPs also considered the draft law on Amendment to the Civil Procedure Code.

The sitting ended with the MPs’ announcements.
