Visit to Tsitsernakaberd
1 / 5

On May 19, the RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov, the NA deputies Margarit Yesayan, Gagik Melikyan, Tatshat Vardapetyan, and Vahram Mkrtchyan visited Tsitsernakaberd, Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex to pay tribute to the memory of the Pontian Greek Genocide victims. Iannis Taghis, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hellenic Republic to Armenia and representatives of Greek community attended the commemoration ceremony. Those present laid flowers and wreaths at the monument and honoured the memory of the Greek innocent victims.

Highlighting the consolidation of the massacred peoples’ efforts and support Eduard Sharmazanov has noted that on March 24, 2015 the RA National Assembly unanimously recognized the Greek Genocide in Ottoman Turkey. The RA NA Deputy Speaker called on the peoples of the world to fight for the recognition and condemnation of the genocides perpetrated in the past, as the denialism results in new genocides and new crimes.
