On May 23, the Head of the RA NA Delegation to OSCE PA Artashes Geghamyan, members of the Delegation Stepan Demirchyan and Mikayel Melkumyan met with the Special Representative on South Caucasus to OSCE PA Kristian Vigenin.
Welcoming the guest the Head of the Delegation Artashes Geghamyan highlighted Kristian Vigenin’s visit to Armenia which takes place immediately after the meeting of the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Vienna on May 16.
Artashes Geghamyan emphasized the statement of the Foreign Ministers of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries after the end of the meeting of the Presidents of the two countries in Vienna on the fact that the Nagorno Karabakh (NK) has no military solution and the Agreements on preservation of the ceasefire signed in 1994 and strengthening of the ceasefire signed in 1995 was highlighted to preserve.
The Head of the RA NA Delegation to OSCE PA has underlined that the necessity of the investment of the mechanism of monitoring in the conflict zone and the investigation of the incidents, as, according to him, it is important that the international community gives addressed assessment to the ceasefire violations.
Artashes Geghamyan once again reaffirmed the Armenian side’s position of solving the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict exclusively through peaceful means and the necessity of involving the Nagorno Karabakh Republic in the negotiation process of the Karabakh conflict settlement.
The Special Representative on South Caucasus to OSCE PA Kristian Vigenin touched upon the positive developments on the conflict settlement being visible after the Vienna meeting of May 16. Highlighting the OSCE Minsk Group mediatory role in the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Kristian Vigenin also stressed the role of the PA in the settlement of the NK conflict, as well as the debate and solution of other problems.
The members of the Delegation Stepan Demirchyan and Mikayel Melkumyan once again reaffirmed Armenia’s position on the settlement of the Karabakh conflict exclusively through peaceful means, in the OSCE Minsk Group format.
The interlocutors also referred to the Constitutional reforms being implemented in our country and the process of the adoption of the RA New Electoral Code.
