On May 24, the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Artak Zakaryan met with the newly appointed RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Italy Victoria Bagdassarian.

The Committee Chairman congratulated the Ambassador on the occasion of the appointment and expressed conviction that during her tenure the Ambassador will do her best to develop the Armenian-Italian high level relations.

In the context of the development of the relations of the two states the development of the inter-parliamentary relations and the boosting of the political active dialogue was highlighted.

It has been noted that good working and partnership relations exist in the bilateral and multilateral formats with the parliament of the Republic of Italy. The active cooperation with the deputies of Italy in the PACE, in the OSCE PA, in the NATO PA, in the European Parliament and the practical support of the Embassy has particularly been emphasized.

In the course of the meeting the activation of the cooperation in the trade-economic, cultural spheres, tourism and encouragement of investments was also highlighted.

Artak Zakaryan expressed hope that during her activities the Ambassador will support for more activating the inter-parliamentary relations, as well as the boosting of the RA NA Committee’s initiatives in the parliament of the Republic of Italy.
