On June 21, the members of the RA NA Armenia-China Friendship Group Ruzanna Muradyna, Karine Poghosyan, Margarit Yesayan, Volodya Badalyan, Vahram Mkrtchyan, Tatshat Vardapetyan met with the representatives of the Communist Party of China, who arrived in Armenia at the invitation of the Republican Party of Armenia.

Welcoming the guests, the member of Armenia-China Friendship Group Ruzanna Muradyan noted that during recent period the contacts of the Republican Party of Armenia with the Communist Party were activated. Mrs Muradyan noted that the RA President’s visit to the People’s Republic of China paved a new path for the friendship of the two countries, further cooperation and the development of the relations. It has been underlined that the joint Declaration signed by the Presidents of the two countries has put a basis of those relations. Ruzanna Muradyan has stated that the relations of Armenia with China have already begun from the 2nd century through the Silk Road. The MP emphasized China’s participation and contribution to the construction of the New Silk Road and Armenia-Iran railway.

Highlighting the mutual relations and cooperation between the cultures of the two countries Mrs Muradyan has noted that its vivid evidence is the opening of the school with in-depth study of Chinese. The Armenian parliamentarians considered important the mutual friendship and partnership relations not only in friendly terms, but also in political one.

Mrs Muradyan has informed that a Friendship Group with China functions in the RA National Assembly and introduced the members of the Group.

The Deputy Secretary of the Committee of the Communist Party of China Li Going, thanking for the reception, has noted that they visit Armenia for the first time. He thanked the members of Armenia-China Friendship Group for doing great work in the development of the Armenian-Chinese relations and having significant contribution. Li Going has said that though the two countries are far from each other, but they have many similarities and commonalities: the two countries have had great contribution to the development of the nations’ civilizations. It has been noted that the Chinese side is ready to carry out the agreements, which have been reached during the visits of the high ranking officials of the two countries.

The Armenians MPs, greeting the guests, also emphasized the rapprochement of the Armenian-Chinese relations, underlined the necessity of bilateral visits and frequent contacts.

The interlocutors highlighted the close work between the legislative bodies in the development of bilateral relations. The sides also touched upon the bilateral cooperation educational, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.
