On August 29, the Head of the RA NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gagik Minasyan received Carsten Körber, Member of the Budget Committee of the FRG Bundestag.
Welcoming the guest’s visit to the Armenian Parliament, Gagik Minasyan highly appreciated the cooperation and exchange of experience between Armenian and German parliamentarians in different spheres. Gagik Minasyan expressed gratitude to the FRG Bundestag for adopting the bill recognizing the Armenian Genocide and noted that this step could only be done by the strong parliament of a strong country, as non-condemnation of genocides creates conditions for new crimes.
Gagik Minasyan presented the guest the activities in the National Assembly according to the RA Constitution Amendments, the purposes and efficiency of transformation into parliamentary system, mentioned the stages of adoption of a number of laws conditioned by the new Constitution.
Particularly, Gagik Minasyan talked about the Audit Chamber, the Budget office functioning around 8 months, the effective cooperation of the RA NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs with the German GIZ.
The interlocutors touched upon the adoption of state budgets in both parliaments, emphasizing installation of practical control mechanisms in using state budget and in that context they especially highlighted the formation of budget and the existence of independent audit chamber.
Bundestag MP Carsten Körber thanked for the warm reception and attached importance to such kind of meetings, stating that cooperation and experience exchange are essential for resolution of challenges existing between the two countries.
