On September 5, the RA NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration and Local Self-Government moderated by Stepan Margaryan held a regular meeting, discussing and endorsing the legislative package initiated by the Government on Amendments to the RA Civil Code, Amendments to the RA Land Code, Amendments to the RA Law on Urban Development, Amendments to the Law on Legal Acts and Amendments to Public Administration Institutions, which will be included in the draft agenda of the NA Autumn Session and coming 4-day sittings.
According to the key reporter, First Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Development Vache Terteryan’s information, the package doesn’t propose changes in the content of the laws; existing controversies in the mentioned laws are offered to be abolished. In particular, “urban community” and “rural community” concepts are proposed to be changed into “community” concept by the November 24, 2015 Amendments to the RA Law on the RA Administrative-Territorial Division.
According to the author Hovhannes Margaryan’s proposal, the consideration of the draft law on Local Self-Government in the cities of Gyumri and Vanadzor was delayed.
