On October 6-7, the Chair of RA NA Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs Koryun Nahapetyan and NA Deputy Rubik Hakobyan took part in the joint sitting of the consultation coordinating the Chairs of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly (PA) and the Committees on Defense and Security Affairs of the CSTO Member States adjunct to the CSTO PA Council in the city of Cholpon-Ata of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.

Koryun Nahapetyan delivered a speech on the theme The Use of the Advisory Acts of the Defense and Security Spheres Adopted by the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly in the National Legislation . Before submitting the very report he touched upon the military political new situation created in the region as a consequence of April War and noted that the repetition of such adventurism by the Azerbaijani leadership could result in severe consequences, and turn the region a serious challenge for the member states of the whole organization of the CSTO.

Highlighting the significance of the advisory acts adopted by the CSTO PA in the improvement of the national legislations, Koryun Nahapetyan informed his colleagues about a number of legislative reforms implemented in the RA in the spheres of defense and security, where the provisions in those acts were taken into consideration.

The Committee Chair also presented the procedure and the results of the Constitutional reforms in the RA, talked about the expecting amendments to the legislation of the spheres of defense and security and the perspectives of the advisory acts' use in the national legislation.

During the sitting, the emergency situations and the drafts of the advisory acts regarding the terrorism and corruption were discussed.

On October 7, the participants of the joint sitting as observers followed the tactical military training Rubezh-2016 of the CSTO Central Asian Region Quick Response Collective Forces.
