On November 30, the Head of the RA NA RPA Faction Vahram Baghdasaryan, Members of the Faction Hovhannes Sahakyan, Artak Zakaryan, Khosrov Harutyunyan, Vahram Mkrtchyan and the Secretary of the RA NA ARF Faction Aghvan Vardanyan met with the Members of the Delegation of the OSCE Democratic Institutions and Human Rights Office, OSCE/ODIHR Election Adviser Alexey Gromov, OSCE/ODIHR Senior Election Adviser Richard Lappin and the Loic Poulain Programme Officer.

During the meeting issues concerning the upcoming parliamentary elections in Armenia, the compilation of electoral lists, the percentage of the involvement of women and national minorities in them, electoral campaign and electoral processes, the Electoral Code adoption phases, the peculiarities of the Electoral Code and the necessity of the public awreness to the amendments were debated.

The Head of the RPA Faction Vahram Baghdasaryan has underlined that the RA authorities have political will to hold transparent and unprecedented elections corresponding with the standards of democracy, for which the maximum has been done: the legislation of the sphere has been improved, as a result of long-term debates, the recommendations of the opposition and the civil society have been taken into consideration. The MPs highlighted the participation of the local and international, including also the OSCE/ODIHR Observation Missions in the electoral processes. As a problem requiring solution the issue of the awareness and training of the participants to the features and amendments of the electoral processes was raised, and according to the deputies, it is urgent and is possible to implement through social advertisements. In this aspect the parliamentarians highlighted the support of the OSCE/ODIHR.

The interlocutors expressed readiness to continue the meetings and debate all issues of concern.
