On December 16, the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs Koryun Nahapetyan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Judith Margareth Farnworth .

Welcoming the Ambassador Koryun Nahapetyan underlined the efficiency and usefulness of the practical working visit paid of the Delegation of the Committee to the United Kingdom from November 28 to December 1 of this year and thanked the United Kingdom for the support shown to the Committee.

Summing up the results, Koryun Nahapetyan also touched upon the perspectives of bilateral cooperation in parliamentary format and the prior directions. The possibilities of strengthening of parliamentary oversight towards the spheres of defense and security, the upgrading of the legislation of the mentioned spheres, the rise of the Committee’s capabilities, as well as the implementation of the joint programmes in directions of good governance and boosting of democracy.

Judith Margareth Farnworth highlighted the necessity of the development of the Armenian-British relations and expressed readiness to deepen the cooperation with the Committee.
