On March 4, the RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazaonv received the representatives of the IPA CIS Observation Mission, who visited our country with the observation mission of the pre-election phase of the parliamentary election is to be held in future. The RA NA Permanent Representative to the IPA CIS Hayk Chilingaryan attended the meeting.

In the course of the meeting the sides touched upon the organization of the parliamentary elections to be held on April 2 and the provisions being designed by the Electoral Code in that issue.

The RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov has assured that the new Electoral Code gives a full opportunity for holding the coming election fairly, transparently and in accordance with democratic standards.

“The Electoral Code gives all opportunities for organization and holding the best elections in our country. The RA authorities will do their best not to have any fear on the procedure of the elections with the RA citizens,” the NA Deputy Speaker noted.

Mr Sharmazanov underlined with satisfaction that the representatives of power, opposition and civil society took part in the debates of the Electoral Code by the principle of equality, and the document had been passed by the parliament with full mutual consent, and the recommendations had been taken into consideration by the opposition.

The representative of the IPA CIS Observation Mission Gladio Georgievich presented the procedure of the implementation of their mission and the upcoming steps taken.
