On May 30, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on European Integration Naira Zohrabyan met with the Diogo Pinto, Director of European Friends of Armenia (EuFoA) international NGO.

The Committee Chair congratulated Diogo Pinto on assuming this important mission. Naira Zohrabyan presented the works done by the Committee, which relate to the RA and Artsakh external political agenda in the international structures.

Mr Pinto, in his turn, presented the problems existing on the organization agenda and the works to be done.

The sides have exchanged the information base which is necessary to present in the European Parliament and in PACE on the NK conflict and the problems existing on the RA external political agenda. The issue of making the contacts with the MEPs of the European Parliament more active was also discussed.

Naira Zohrabyan raised the issue of inadmissibility of discussion of the problem connected with Sarsang Reservoir in the European Parliament, noting that the problem of the Azerbaijani lobbyists and the European MPs involved in the ‘caviar diplomacy’ will be discussed in PACE in the future, and among them is Milica Marković, the author of the resolution on Sarsang Reservoir. The Committee Chair underlined that the problem was discussed with the Members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament that had arrived in our country a few days ago. Ms Zohrabyan expressed hope that the NGO European Friends of Armenia will make its unbiased efforts to provide objective and accurate information for the European MPs and the European community on both the NK problem and on certain MPs’ real activities.
