Eduard Sharmazanov: Giving Religious Nuance to NK Problem by Azerbaijan Should Be Condemned by CSTO PA Deputies
1 / 2

On September 25, the RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov being in Saint Petersburg on a working visit had a meeting with the Responsible Secretary of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation Parliamentary Assembly (CSTO PA) Pyotr Ryabukhin in Tavrischeskiy (Tauride) Palace. The RA NA Permanent Representative to the IPA CIS Hayk Chilingaryan also attended the meeting.

In the course of the meeting issues concerning the organisational works of the upcoming session of the CSTO PA Council were discussed. The sides underlined with satisfaction the active participation of the Armenian Delegation in the CSTO PA works.

Eduard Sharmazanov has presented the military-political situation in our region, noting that Azerbaijan continues remaining a threat for the regional security and stability.

“Through many years the leadership of Azerbaijan has openly campaigned Armenophobia, also trying to give religious nuance to Artsakh problem. We condemn the racist policy of Azerbaijan’s leadership, and we consider inadmissible giving religious nuance to the problem. The conflict should be solved exclusively through peaceful negotiations, having as a key the complete realisation of the Artsakh people’s right to self-determination.”
