On September 29, the Head of the Armenian Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation (OSCE PA) Hermine Naghdalyan met with the OSCE PA Special Representative on the South Caucasus Kristian Vigenin.

The members of the OSCE PA Armenian Delegation Tigran Urikhanyan and Ararat Mirzoyan took part in the meeting.

Welcoming the guests in the RA National Assembly, Hermine Naghdalyan highly assessed the OSCE PA role and mission in the region. Presenting the OSCE PA Armenian Delegation, she highlighted the role of the opposition in the delegation.

Thanking for the meeting, Kristian Vigenin emphasized the bilateral meetings and positively appreciated the involvement of the new forces in the Armenian Delegation to the OSCE PA.

The OSCE PA Special Representative on the South Caucasus has considered important this visit before the Andorra Autumn Meeting, especially with respect to the fact that he has an opportunity to concentrate his attention on the meetings not only at the high level, but also the contacts with the citizens, who have suffered because of regional conflicts.

Kristian Vigenin particularly has noted that in Azerbaijan and Georgia he has met the internally deported persons and lawyers, and today for the first time in Yerevan he will meet with the representatives of Nagorno Karabakh authorities, as well as with the villagers, who have been attacked.

The high ranking guest considered useful the visit, as after his visit he could present concrete recommendations in Andorra.

The OSCE PA Special Representative on the South Caucasus deemed as a positive step also the Armenian MPs’ visit to Baku recently.

Highly assessing Kristian Vigenin’s visit, the Head of the Armenian Delegation to the OSCE PA Hermine Naghdalyan emphasized the upcoming meeting of the delegation with the representatives and population of the Artsakh authorities.

Hermine Naghdalyan urged the OSCE PA Special Representative on the South Caucasus also to visit Artsakh and get acquainted with the situation on the spot.
