Parliament in First Reading Debates RA Draft Law on Military Service and Serviceman’s Status

On October 25, the RA National Assembly continued the work of the regular sittings, by voting passing the bills debated on the previous day.

The deputies welcomed the students and lecturers of Yerevan State Humanitarian technical College hosted in the parliament.

The draft law on Military Service and Serviceman's Status was debated.

The RA Minister of Defense Vigen Sargsyan in the first reading presented for debate of the parliament the draft law on Military Service and Serviceman's Status, where provisions of the RA several laws regulating the sphere and in force were united.

The Minister answered the deputies' numerous questions and gave clarifications.

The co-speaker, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security Koryun Nahapetyan noted that the bill was debated in the Committee, besides that on the initiative of the Committee parliamentary hearings were organized for studying all the possible risks connected with the adoption of the bill.

Exchange of thoughts was held on the draft law.

The NA deputies Edmon Marukyan, Shirak Torosyan, Lena Nazaryan, Nikol Pashinyan, Hermine Naghdalyan, Ruzanna Muradyan, Romik Manukyan, Mane Tandilyan, Samvel Nikoyan Naira Zohrabyan, Arman Saghatelyan, Jemma Baghdasaryan and the RA Deputy Speaker expressed their opinions and viewpoints on the draft law.

At the last sitting, according to Article 120 of the Constitutional Law NA Rules of Procedure, the members of the RA Government orally answered the deputies' questions.
