Meeting in Parliament

On February 11 RA NA President Artur Baghdasaryan received the members of the Presidium of the Blinds’ Association in Armenia. The aim of the meeting was the problems of state policy towards the blind disabled. The problems relating to the conditions of enterprises running in Yerevan and regions, their areas and tax privileges, in particular, the recovery of the branch of the enterprises in Gyumri, the review of the illegal privatization of their area in Isahakyan street in Yerevan, creating jobs for the blind disabled, introducing new technology in enterprises, financial support and so forth, were submitted to the NA President.

NA President Artur Baghdasaryan noted that the problems of the disabled are in the center of Parliament’s consideration, and the council affiliated with the NA President dealing with the key problems of the disabled was set up for the solution of those problems. The laws relating to the disabled  need to be elaborated, including both institutional problems and problems relating to certain categories of the disabled. In the result of the meeting, an agreement was reached that a working group will be set up for rendering assistance to the blind disabled, which will study the conditions and problems of the enterprises being under control of the association, as well as the legislative and practical issues relating to them. The members of the Central Department of the Presidium of the Blinds’ Association of Armenia were also offered to develop certain programs, and by studying the international experience develop versions of their full integration into a society, to the realization of which the Parliament President promised to promote.
