Ara Babloyan Receives Newly Appointed Ambassador of Lebanon to Armenia

On January 23, the RA NA President Ara Babloyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lebanon to Armenia Maya Dagher.

Welcoming the Ambassador in the parliament Ara Babloyan has noted that though the Armenian-Lebanese diplomatic relations have a history of twenty-five years, but the friendly ties have a history of centuries.

The RA NA President thanked the people of Lebanon for their warm attitude shown through many years towards the Armenian community. Talking about the situation in the region Ara Babloyan expressed his concern about the events going on in Syria during the last years and noted that the issues should be solved through political way.

The RA NA President expressed readiness for supporting the enlivening of the relations between the two countries’ parliaments, noting also that Armenia and Lebanon have great potential for developing the cooperation in the spheres of economy, health care, education, culture and other spheres.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lebanon to Armenia Maya Dagher thanked the RA NA President for the reception.

Touching upon the centuries-old firm friendship of the Lebanese and Armenian peoples Mrs Dagher underlined the important role and significance of the Armenian community in the public-political life of Lebanon. Maya Dagher has documented that the Armenian MPs effectively work in the parliament of Lebanon.

The Ambassador expressed readiness for promoting the enlivening of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups’ activities and the steps taken for the expansion of the two countries’ cooperation.

At the end of the meeting Ara Babloyan wished success Maya Dagher in the implementation of her diplomatic mission in our country.
