On February 2, the Head of the RA NA Armenia-Mexico Friendship Group Karen Avagyan met with Norma Pensado Moreno, the newly appointed Ambassador of the United States of Mexico to Armenia.

Congratulating the Ambassador on the occasion of her appointment, Karen Avagyan expressed conviction that during her tenure Norma Pensado Moreno would have her contribution to deepening of bilateral relations.

Touching upon the perspective of the development of the Armenian-Mexican relations, the Head of the Friendship Group especially highlighted the role of the parliamentary diplomacy in this issue.

The interlocutors discussed issues concerning the peaceful settlement of Nagorno Karabakh problem. In Karen Avagyan’s word, the Artsakh people earned their right of living and creating in an independent country.

The Ambassador has noted that the viewpoint of Mexico in the NK conflict is distinct and unchangeable: it shall be solved within the framework of the dialogue and the peaceful negotiations going on by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship.

The sides also touched upon the importance of the dialogue in the issues of mutual interest within the framework of the international organisations, the cooperation between the Friendship Groups and the issues on the activation of the mutual visits.
