On February 21, during the parliamentary hearings on the theme The Legislative Reforms and Problems of Higher Educational Education Sphere convened on the initiative of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport the package of the RA Laws on Higher Education, on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Law on Education, on Amending the RA Law on State Non-Commercial Organizations, on Making Addenda to the RA Law on Funds, on Amending the RA Tax Code, on Making Amendments and Addendum to the RA Law on Licensing, on Making Amendments and Addendum to the RA Law on State Duty authored by the government. The RA NA deputies, representatives of the state and private higher educational institutions, military educational institutions functioning in Armenia and in Artsakh, members of the RA and AR Government and experts of the educational sphere.
The Chair RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Vardan Bostanjyan has noted that the goal of the parliamentary hearings is the make reforms in the legislative package due to the received recommendations. According to the Committee Chair, a number of innovations are proposed in the sphere by the package passed long-term elaboration and public debate. He has stressed that the problems facing the higher educational sphere are numerous, and this legislative initiative proposed by the government has a goal to have modern developments and assumed obligations in the sphere.
The RA Minister of Education and Science Levon Mkrtchyan informed that the package had been discussed with the specialists and experts for about 2.5 years and had been undergone international examination.
The participants of the hearings the RA NA deputies Karen Avagyan, Ruzanna Muradyan, Naira Zohrabyan, Luiza Sargsyan, Sergey Hakobyan, Vahe Enfiajyan, Koryun Nahapetyan, the RA NA Deputy Speakers Mikayel Melkumyan and Eduard Sharmazanov, the Councillor of Gavar State University Ruzanna Hakobyan, the RA Deputy Minister of Education and Science Vahram Mkrtchyan expressed their viewpoints on the legislative initiative.
The RA Minister of Education and Science Levon Mkrtchyan and the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Vardan Bostanjyan touched upon the speeches of the participants of the hearings in their final speech. The latter thanked the participants of the hearings for the concerned discussion, informing that the legislative package would be debated in the RA NA Standing Committees and Factions.
