Before leaving Tbilisi, RA NA Speaker met the residents of the town of Alaverdi of Lori marz (region). At the beginning of the meeting the Parliament Speaker presented the legislative activity of the National Assembly of Armenia, in particular, specifying that the legislative body of our country seeks to pass such laws, which will promote the improvement of the people’s social conditions, rise of the education quality, the regular process of life. NA Speaker Artur Baghdasaryan specified the draft law “On Pre-School Institutions”, by which an attempt will be made to restore the kindergartens closed in 1993, determining all necessary conditions for the children’s pre-school education in those institutions. The Parliament Speaker informed that by the request of another law adopted by the National Assembly, 27 colleges closed before are going to function again, and on that purpose, appropriate allocations will be by the state budget of the next year. Continuing the education theme, NA Speaker also informed that in the result of the improvements, in the higher educational institutions from now on all those, who have necessary and appropriate knowledge, and will not be depended on the parent’s material possibilities. Elaborating on the misuses of different spheres, Artur Baghdasaryan also informed that the Control Chamber of RA National Assembly made serious studies, in the result of which, a motion of calling for 60 officials. NA Speaker was asked to send a group from Control Chamber to study the environmental situation in Alaverdi, which was qualified disastrous both, in the people’s health and environmental aspect. Mr. Baghdasaryan promised to send a group from the Control Chamber for the study of environmental problems.

During the meeting NA Speaker also spoke about the upcoming elections of the Mayor, calling on the residents of the town to elect by the dictate of their own consciousness.

Answering the questions of the residents of Alaverdi, NA Speaker, in particular, touched upon the artistic education, informing that the concept “On Artistic Education,” which is in the stage of elaboration, after which the appropriate law will follow. The sounded questions also referred to the social and economic improvements. Numerous letters were handed over to NA Speaker, and Artur Baghdasaryan promised to get familiarized with them thoroughly and promote to solve the presented problems, if possible.

As many letters and applications were handed over, NA Speaker Artur Baghdasaryan promised to send employees from NA staff on May 5 for organizing the residents’ reception.
