On March 4, the RA National Assembly continued the work of the regular sittings, passing by voting the bills debated on the previous day, except the draft law on Making Addenda to the RA Law on Energy, which was presented in the second reading.

The MPs continued the debate of the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Constitutional Law the RA Judicial Code and the package of the enclosed presented draft laws.

During the exchange of ideas the majority of the MPs considered inexpedient the adoption of the draft law in this shape, especially the decrease of the age threshold for working as a judge was considered unacceptable.

The representatives of the NA Factions (Taron Simonyan – Bright Armenia, Gevorg Petrosyan – Prosperous Armenia, Hayk Konjoryan – My Step) presented viewpoints on the initiative.

In the final speech Anna Karapetyan underlined: “Everybody’s wish is to have independent, unbiased judicial system enjoying the trust of the society and having high authority, to which the initiative in aimed to.” According to the speaker, the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs debates will organize.

The RA Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan touched upon the MPs’ questions and gave clarifications.

The parliament in the first reading debated the draft law on Levying the Property of Illegal Origin and the package of co-draft laws.

The member of the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Suren Grigoryan presented the endorsement of the Committee.

The Head of the NA Bright Armenia Faction Edmon Marukyan has opined on the item under debate.

Gevorg Petrosyan delivered a speech on behalf of the NA Prosperous Armenia Faction.

At the last sitting of the day the members of the Government answered to the MPs’ question in accordance with the RA Constitutional Law the NA Rules of Procedure.
