The 15^th anniversary of “Azg” daily was celebrated on February 16 in the Tekeyan cultural center, which was attended by representatives of the legislative and executive power, scientists, editors, benefactors and others.

In his opening speech Hakob Avetikian, editor-in-chief of “Azg” daily gave an overview of the “Azg” establishment history, of the past and future road and assured that the daily currently enjoys a huge crowd of readers due to the founders’ efforts. Mr. Avetikian was proud to mention that “Azg” daily is the contemporary of the independent statehood of the Republic of Armenia.

The President of the National Assembly Arthur Baghdasaryan congratulated the editorial staff of “Azg” daily on its 15^th anniversary, wishing creative success, realization of the responsibility of one’s own signature and duty. In his opinion the existence of a free press is one of the achievements of our statehood. Mr. Baghdasaryan attached importance to the right of different views in creating a competitive and democratic state. “With regard to “Azg” we are dealing with an interesting contents of different views,” said Arthur Baghdasaryan.

By the order of the President of the National Assembly, Hakob Avetikian, editor-in-chief of “Azg” was rewarded a letter of acknowledgement and a watch of the NA President, the staff of the daily with the diploma of RA National Assembly and the journalists accredited in the parliament with a letter of acknowledgement of the NA President and with money award on the occasion of the effective cooperation with NA, of the coverage of the activities and of the 15^th anniversary of “Azg” daily.

RA Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan, RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Vardan Oskanyan and others extended a message of congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of the 15^th anniversary of “Azg” daily.
