On April 11, the draft law on Amending the Law on Securities Market authored by the Government was debated in the second reading at the extraordinary sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs.
It is proposed to replace the words “special investigation service” with the words “anti-corruption committee” in the relevant article of the current law.
The problem is that the Article 48.20 of the HO-147-N Law on Anti-Corruption Committee stipulates that the HO-255-N Law on Special Investigation Service adopted on November 28, 2007 is recognized invalid and the activity of the Special Investigation Service is considered terminated from the day of entering the law into force, and the necessity of amendment is conditioned by that.
The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Yeranuhi Tumanyants noted that the provision of the law coming into force was changed after the first reading. According to it, the law enters into force on the day following the day of its official publication.
The Committee members endorsed the draft law.
