The deputies of the RA NA Civil Contract Faction Vladimir Vardanyan and Alkhas Ghazaryan proposed addenda and amendments to the Constitutional Law the RA Judicial Code.
In order to ensure the specialized and proper investigation of anti-corruption cases and to speed up the process of creating relevant instances, it is necessary to establish that the Anti-Corruption Court begins to function from the moment of the appointment of five judges specializing in the investigation of corruption crimes, and the judges examining such cases in the courts of appeal begin their tenure from the moment of the appointment of three separate judges.
The key rapporteur Vladimir Vardanyan, presenting the issue in the first reading, underlined that the problem concerns to the implementation of amendments in the transitional provisions.
“It is distinctly recorded in the programme of the Government for 2021-2026 that within the framework of its authorities the executive body will continue implementing the necessary steps aimed at the establishment of the Anti-Corruption Court,” the RA Deputy Minister of Justice Grigor Minasyan said. According to him, due to the activity of the Anti-Corruption Court the efficiency of disclosing the corruption crimes and examination of the cases will increase. In this the Deputy Minister welcomed the initiative aimed at the operation of the complete chain of the anti-corruption courts.
As a result of the debate, parliament approved the initiative.
The initiative was also debated and adopted in the second reading.
