The legislative amendment proposes to give the Health and labor Inspection body an opportunity to carry out inspections aimed at discovering the hidden labor without the three-day notice requirement. In other words, the exceptions that exist for some inspection bodies to carry out inspections without the three-day notice requirement, it is proposed to extend the same regulation to that body exercising control over labor legislation.
The NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs debated in the second reading the draft law on Making Amendments to the Law on Organization and Conduct of Inspections in the Republic of Armenia authored by the deputies Heriknaz Tigranyan and Narek Zeynalyan, which was not amended after the adoption in the first reading.
Next, the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Law on Geographical Indications authored by the Government was debated in the second reading. It proposes to establish a provision, as a result of which it will be possible to register geographical indications based not only on the country, but also on the basis of place or other conditions.
“Some amendments were made after the adoption in the first reading. In particular, the term for expertise has changed from 9 months to 6,” the Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan said.
The Committee endorsed the draft laws. They will be debated during the upcoming regular sittings of the National Assembly.
