On October 21 the parliament continued the work of the four-day sittings.

The parliament continued to debate the annual report “On the Activity of the RA Human Rights Defender and Violation of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms in the Country for 2013.”

The Secretary of the Prosperous Armenia Faction Naira Zohrabyan has talked about the violation of human rights and has noted that the PAP is ready to actively cooperate with the Human Rights Defender’s Office.

The Head of the RPA Faction Vahram Baghdasaryan also has touched upon the problems of the human rights in different spheres, the deputies’ viewpoints voiced in the parliament, which related to the report.

The Head of the faction has highly assessed the work done by the Human Rights Defender’s Office and has noticed that we should more activate the cooperation with the NA Standing Committees and the deputies.

In his final speech the Human Rights Defender Karen Andreasyan has thanked the deputies for the debates of concer. In his word, the debates have given an opportunity to speak about the problems of the human rights.

Karen Andreasyan has noted that the institute led by him cooperates with the Armenian Apostolic Church, the NGOs, the mass media, and the international structures for the problems which are stipulated by the RA Constitution and the laws. He has also informed the attendees that progress has been recorded in many issues.

The RA Deputy Minister of Finance Vakhtang Mirumyan presented in the first reading the package of the draft law “On Tax Exemption on the Activity in Border Rural Communities” and the relevant laws. The debate of the package will continue at the October 22 sitting of the National Assembly.

The last hour of the sitting, in accordance with the NA Rules of Procedure, has been allotted to the deputies’ announcements.
