On November 26 the NA Standing Committees convened sittings. The RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs moderated by Mikayel Melkumyan in the first reading debated the bill “On Amending the RA Customs Code” authored by Edmon Marukyan.

The RA Deputy Minister of Finance Vakhtang Mirumyan has noted that after Armenia’s joining the EEU the EEU Customs legislation will function and abovementioned problems will be regulated by the EEU legislation.

By the author’s proposal the debate of the bill was postponed up to one year. The debate of the legislative package designing amendments to the RA law “On the Public and Individual Notice via Internet” to a number of laws stemming from it were also postponed.

The Committee debated the treaty “On Joining the Treaty of May 29, 2014 ‘on Eurasian Economic Union’ of the Republic of Armenia,” which submitted the RA Deputy Minister of Finance Suren Karayan.

In his concluding speech Suren Karayan touched upon all the concerns and interpellations. With 5 for, 2 against and 9 abstained the Committee guaranteed the treaty under debate with endorsement to include it in the draft laws of the agendas of the NA session and upcoming four-day sittings.

On the same day the next sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport moderated by Artak Davtyan was convened. Mr Davtyan has noted that the debate of the bill “On Amending the RA Law on Higher and Post Graduate Education” is postponed up to one year. Then in the second reading the draft law “On Amending the RA Law on Conservation and Use of the Immovable Monuments of History and Culture and Historical Environment” was submitted for debate in the second reading. The Deputy Minister of Culture Artur Poghosyan presented the endorsement of the RA Government.

Tevan Poghosyan presented the draft law “On Amending the RA law on Advertisement.”

Summing up the debate of the issue the Committee Chairman Artak Davtyan said that the draft law had been endorsed to be included in the draft law of the agenda of the session.
