On April 27, within the framework of the NA Open Doors programme the students of the third and fourth platoons of Monte Melkonian Military and Sports College were hosted in parliament. First, they observed the works of the NA Plenary sitting, then took part in the regular open lesson, which this time conducted the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Artak Davtyan.
Welcoming the students of the College Artak Davtyan touched upon the youngsters’ chosen profession and highlighted it, taking into consideration the man’s first main mission of defending the Motherland. Afterwards, Artak Davtyan presented the spheres of the activities of the Committee led by him, the structure of the parliament, talked about the positive changes being expected after the Constitutional reforms and the peculiarities of the parliamentary government.
The main of the meeting went on in Q & A format: Artak Davtyan answered the answers of the future servicemen and their teachers, which related to the sphere of education, the possibilities of the reforms of the high schools’ educational programmes, the reasons of the problems not included in the textbooks of biology in the entrance tests, the possible amendments to the RA Law on Conscription, and the problem concerning the community during these days – the military operations occurring on Karabakh-Azerbaijani line of contact.
At the end of the meeting the students of the College had their photo taken with Artak Davtyan in the NA Session Hall.
