On May 16 RA National Assembly President Hovik Abrahamyan received the newly appointed Ambassador of Sweden to Armenia Diana Janse.

Congratulating the guest on the occasion of her appointment the President of the National Assembly expressed hope that Mrs Janse would have her investment in the enhancement and development of the relations between Armenia and Sweden. The NA President also highlighted the development of inter-parliamentary relations and welcomed the creation of Sweden-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group in the parliament of that Scandinavian country. Hovik Abrahamyan thanked the Rikstag of Sweden for the adoption of the resolution condemning the Armenian Genocide.

Thanking for warm reception Ambassador Janse ensured that she would do her best for more expanding the Armenian-Swedish cooperation. She noted that the Swedish authorities attached big importance to the relations of the region and Armenia.

At the meeting the sides also touched upon the development of bilateral cooperation in political, economic and humanitarian spheres, the mutual relations and partnership with the European organizations, the undergoing reforms in Armenia and regional problems.
