On May 19 RA National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan received a group of instructors and students of the USA Indiana Wesleyan University, whom accompanied instructors of Armenian origin of the same University Ani and Petros Malakians.
Welcoming the guests, the NA Speaker considered very useful such visits, which gave opportunity to get acquainted with that country and have an opinion about it, then presented those impressions in their Motherland. Hovik Abrahamyan gave them advice to visit the History Museum of Armenia, where they would get more knowledge and information about the past of Armenia.
Noting that the parliament is open for the community, students, schoolchildren, and meetings constantly take place in the legislative high body with them, Hovik Abrahamyan presented the electoral order, the structure, the factions and committees of the National Assembly, introduced the functions.
The Speaker of the National Assembly touched upon the reforms being implemented in Armenia, the NK conflict settlement, the Armenian-Turkish relations, presented Armenia’s positions on the problems of the foreign policy.
Hovik Abrahamyan also answered the students’ questions. After the meeting expressing his impressions the Professor of the University Chris Pence expressed his gratitude that the Speaker of the National Assembly found time and received them. In his word, it was a great honor for the participants of the meeting to meet with the head of the parliament and address him questions. And the student of the University Michael Britt was impressed that the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament had meetings with the schoolchildren and students, conducted open lessons for them.
Then the students and instructors, who arrived in Armenia from the USA, visited in the NA session hall, where they have been taken photo with the Speaker of the Parliament.
