On May 19 RA National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan received John Williams, the Chief Executive Officer of the Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption (GOPAC) and Francois Vezina, the Chief of Party of the USAID Mobilizing Action Anti-Corruption Program (MAAC) , who were taking part in the international working meeting being held in RA NA, which was dedicated to the National Assembly's role in reducing corruption in Armenia.
The NA Speaker also welcomed the conduct of the event, highly assessing the steps taken by GOPAC in combating corruption. According to Hovik Abrahamyan, the Armenian Parliament takes part in that combat. The NA Speaker highlighted the moniroting functions of the legislative body.
John Williams, the GOPAC Executive Chief Officer noted that the organization was called for consolidating the parliamentarians of the world to combat corruption and considered important creating a national branch, GOPAC Armenian organization.
RA NA Speaker also considered necessary the creation of the national structure. Expressing his willingness to support and expecting effective work with GOPAC. Both sides emphasized the enlargement of cooperation and the rapprochement of cooperation.
