In the Republic of Argentina the first meeting of the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan was with the representatives of the Argentinean Armenian organizations.

The NA President and the members of the official delegation led by him on November 24 visited Saint Grigor Lusavorich (Enlightener) Church in Buenos Aires, laid a wreath and flowers at the obelisk of the Armenian Genocide victims and the monument of the deceased freedom fighters in Artsakh.

At the celebration hall of the AGBU Buenos Aires Office Hovik Abrahamyan had a meeting with the representatives of the Argentinean Armenian community. Welcoming those present the NA President noted that Argentina was the first Latin American country, where the Republic of Armenia founded its Embassy, and the first Embassy of Argentina was founded in Armenia in the South Caucasus. Besides, Armenia together with Argentina has eliminated the demand of the entrance visa regime. All this, according to Hovik Abrahamyan, testifies to the Armenian-Argentinean inter-state friendly relations and the warm attitude towards each other of the two nations. “We are proud that our compatriots actively take part in the development of different spheres of the public life of Argentina, occupy high posts in the administration system,” Hovik Abrahamyan said. He expressed gratitude to the authorities of Argentina and the people for the continuing care and warm attitude shown towards our compatriots. “We are ready to continue the steps taken for the deepening of cooperation in more developing the political, trade-economic and cultural relations with Argentina,” Hovik Abrahamyan noted.

Touching upon the Karabakh problem, the NA President said: “As you know, today for all Armenians one of the concerning problems remains the solution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict for the benefit of Armenians. With Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora tripartite unity the Armenian people are more than powerful and more effectively can implement its all-national programmes. The negotiation process over the NK issue continues, and I would like to assure you that irrespective of the bellicose announcements and threats sounding by the neighbouring Azerbaijan we shall do our best to reach the solution of the Artsakh issue for the benefit of Armenians. There are all preconditions for that in the name of the political will of the Armenian authorities, Armenian combating armed forces and the conviction becoming gradually prior among the international community that the Nagorno Karabakh cannot be part of Azerbaijan.”

“I am confident that all of us being in Armenia, in Artsakh, in Argentina or in any country with many Armenians living there, with joint forces can make more powerful the two Armenian states: the Republics of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh, make powerful the Armenian Diaspora, supporting and backing each other,” the NA President said.
