On June 6 the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan received Tian Changchun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Armenia.
The Ambassador of China conveyed the congratulatory message of Wu Bangguo, Chairman of the Standing Committee of Chinese National People’s Representative Congress of the People’s Republic of China, on being elected in the NA President’s post. To the Ambassador’s conviction, during Hovik Abrahamyan’s tenure the Armenian-Chinese relations will be more intensified and developed, and the inter-parliamentary partnership will be activated. The Ambassador has noted that this year is the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and China and presented to the NA President a book telling about the 20th anniversary of the Armenian-Chinese relationship.
The NA President Hovik Abrahamyan has noted that Armenia highlights the development and deepening of relations with the People’s Republic of China in different spheres. “In public, political, economic and cultural spheres the expansion and deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation contribute to the reinforcement of relationship between Armenia and China and the activation of contacts between the two societies,” the NA President said. Mr Abrahamyan expressed willingness to promote at best the reinforcement and development of the Armenian-Chinese relations, particularly, inter-parliamentary relations.
In the course of the meeting other issues of bilateral interest were also discussed.
