On November 16 the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan received the delegation led by the Chairman of the Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Ties with Compatriots of the RF State Duma Leonid Slutsky.
Welcoming the guests the NA President highly assessed the development of strategic and federal cooperation with the Russian Federation in all directions and deemed important the deepening of parliamentary cooperation. He documented with satisfaction the active cooperation of the two parliaments: recently the 23rd sitting of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee on Cooperation between the RA NA and the RF Federal Assembly was held in Yerevan, and the next day in the National Assembly the joint sitting of the Committees on NA Foreign Relations and on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Ties with Compatriots of the State Duma will be held. To his assessment, the inter-parliamentary relations of Armenia and Russia have gained coordinated character, and the parliamentary format of cooperation is one of the main components of the Armenian-Russian multi-vector cooperation. Mr Abrahamyan considered important the deepening of cooperation of the two parliaments at the level of committees, as well as within the framework of the Customs Union.
Thanking for the warm reception the Chairman of the Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Ties with Compatriots of the RF State Duma Leonid Slutsky also highly assessed the current level of the Armenian-Russian strategic relations. In deepening of bilateral relations he greatly emphasized the formed cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.
In the course of the meeting the sides also discussed other issues concerning the bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation and highlighted the cooperation of parliamentary delegations in international parliamentary structures.
