On February 14 the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan accompanied by the members of the NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs, Head of Tavush Marz (region) and other officials, was in Tavush Marz on a working visit.
The first stop of the delegation led by the NA President was one of the military units of Tavush Marz. The soldiers met the NA President with special enthusiasm under the sounds of the RA anthem. Addressing the commanders, the officers and the soldiers the NA President has noted that the goal of the visit is to get acquainted with the soldiers’ problems, expressing conviction that today the cooperation of the National Assembly and the RA Ministry of Defense is on solid bases. Mr Abrahamyan has mentioned that the RA President, the National Assembly and the Government highlight and focus on the frontier soldiers’ problems and through regular visits they try to support the solution of the problems. Touching upon the action of the Azerbaijani authorities he has underlined that our soldiers counter attack. “We, on the contrary of the Azerbaijani authorities, campaign that the problems facing us should be solved as a result of peaceful negotiations, but it is not done one-sided. In fact, the Azerbaijani authorities still do not display reasonable policy. Of course, we wish peace, but if they oppose us war, we’ll give them a corresponding counter attack and we’ll defend our Motherland, our land and our water,” the Head of the legislative body said. He has underscored that the RA authorities led by the RA President are next to the Armenian army. The Speaker of the parliament wished a peaceful and safe service.
A solemn victorious marching was held accompanied by a military band, after which the NA President took a tour in the military unit, got acquainted with the soldiers’ everyday life and problems.
Then the NA President went up the frontier positions, talked with the officers’ crew and soldiers around the tea table. He took a tour in the dwellings of the crew, got familiarized with the conditions and promised to solve the raised problems.
Let us note that the President of the National Assembly has not gone empty handed to the military unit and frontier base, he gave devices with alternative energy source, a TV set, a DVD player, etc.
The NA President’s next stop was Berkaber community, where he visited a restored school and got familiarized with the problems and conditions on spot.
Mr Abrahamyan took a tour in the classrooms, in the computer room, in the library, gym hall. Presenting the problems of the school to the NA President the director of the secondary school of Berkaber community Volodya Balasanyan has informed him that some classrooms are on the enemy’s target, and they are not used for security reasons. He has noted that at the moment 37 pupils study at school, and there is still no need of using those classrooms, but in future the children’s number is designed. “This year in our small village 11 children were born, which speaks of the fact that in future we shall have the problem of using these classrooms,” the acting director of the school said. Hovik Abrahamyan promised to take steps in order to put armoured windows in those classrooms. The NA President also promised to provide books to the library of the school.
After visiting the school the NA President met with the villagers and during the warm and sincere talk he learnt about the numerous problems of the village, which related to water supply, gas supply and creating of jobs. The road of the community needs to be improved, and there are almost no cultivated lands. The Head of Tavush Marz Armen Ghularyan said that big volume of road-construction works had been done and gradually other parts would be made, the gasification and water supply works in process too. Hearing to all concerns the NA President has noted that the problems are in the center of attention of the RA President, the NA and the Government, and has assured that the problems would be solved soon. Let us note that the NA President presented computers and sport itinerary to the school.
The NA President Hovik Abrahamyan and the NA deputies also visited the newly built church of the village.
The next stop of the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan was Vazashen. Hovik Abrahamyan accompanied with the Head of the marz and the deputies followed the road construction works in Vazashen-Paravakar dangerous part of Berd-Ijevan highway of Tavush marz.
The Senior Head of Ijevan Road Construction Daniel Abovyan and the Director of the State institution of the RA Transport Programme Implementing Office Alexander Bakhtamyan presented the procedure of the construction works and ensured that the road would be operated in June, and would be completely safe for traffic.
The villagers of Vazashen met the Head of the parliament at the memorial symbolizing the community, and Hovik Abrahamyan met with the population in the restored community centre.
At the meeting Hovik Abrahamyan has underlined the importance of the frontier village, deeming important everybody’s contribution in the development of the community. The Head of the parliament deemed prior the solution of the problems of the military units and the social issues of the military.
The President of the National Assembly highlighted the demographic problem in this community. He deemed necessary the steps to be taken in boosting the childbirth in the frontier communities. Hovik Abrahamyan promised that from 2014 the National Assembly would transfer 100.000 drams for every child born in every family. The NA President emphasized the regular contacts with the high ranking officials. According to Hovik Abrahamyan, in the conditions of non-settled conflicts the priority of our state is to provide the enforcement of the army and the borders.
In the course of the meeting the NA President also answered the questions concerning the residents. Hovik Abrahamyan presented computers to the community.
The next stop of the NA President Hovik Abrahamyan was Azatamut community. In the House of Culture Hovik Abrahamyan met with the inhabitants, got familarized with the conditions of the House of Culture, as well as the kindergarten and promised to support the solution of the existing problems.
Hovik Abrahamyan promised to allocate financial support to the music school.
In Azatamut the NA President laid flowers at the memorial “Death, Anticipated, is Immortality.”
Summing up the results of the working visit to Tavush Marz Hovik Abrahamyan noted that they would take steps with the Government to pass laws on the problems of the frontier villages, separate the problems of the frontier villages from the problems of other communities.
