On June 11 in Tsaghkadzor the RA NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan attended the solemn ceremony of the opening of the Second Eurasian Youth Forum. Let us note that the Youth Foundation of Armenia and the Eurasian Partnership Foundation (EPF) jointly with Russia Today, the CSTO Analytical Association and the young deputies of the RF State Duma have organized the Forum. The goal of the Forum is to create a new format of cooperation and integration for the youth of the post-Soviet countries. About 200 young people from Armenia, the CIS, Baltic countries and Georgia took part in the event.
Welcoming the participants of the Forum, the NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan expressed conviction that this format would promote the discussion of the problems of common interest and their purposeful and coordinated implementation. To the NA Speaker’s assessment, the youth organizations are viable today and will be also like that in the future, they are not only a means for contacting and education, but also an effective tool of awareness rise. Mr Sahakyan has noted that in the RA National Assembly there are many young deputies, a Youth Parliament also functions, which in the opinion of the Head of the parliament, can be an effective circle for the close cooperation between the youth organizations. He highlighted the young people’s participation in different processes of regional integration, as they are tomorrow’s politicians and decision makers. “This Forum entitled 'Young Eurasia' will give an opportunity to observe the Eurasian integration in the young people’s eyes and raise the problems, advantages and perspectives that this process has. All of us are the bearers of the same scientific-cultural educational heritage, which can be an important factor for the development of the Eurasian integration,” Mr Sahakyan said. He has underlined that the sombre analysis of the changes taking place in the world confirms the reality that lonely facing the challenges is not realistic. It is evident that in the integration processes the perspective of the involvement of the countries has no alternative. The NA Speaker expressed hope that the Forum would boost the strengthening of the ties, the formation of the information field and the deepening of cooperation. Ending his word, Galust Sahakyan wished effective work and pleasant days in Armenia to the participants of the Forum.
Ivan Volinkin, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the RF to the RA welcomed the participant young people of the Forum and introduced the address by the Speaker of the RF State Duma Sergey Narishkin. The RA Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan, the NA deputy, Coordinator of the Trustees’ Council of the Armenian Youth Foundation Karen Avagyan, the Chairman of the Eurasia Partnership Foundation Mher Simonyan, the Coordinator of the CSTO Analytical Association Igor Panarin and others welcomed the youth.
The beginning of the Forum was announced under the sounds of the RA and the RF state anthems.
