On March 30-31 the Speaker of the RF FA State Duma Sergey Narishkin visited the Republic of Armenia the Republic of Armenia. He was hosted in the Armenian-Russian (Slavonic) University within the framework of the visit.
Today, the Speaker of the National Assembly Galust Sahakyan has participated in the conference held at Armenian-Russian (Slavonic) University dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The NA Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan, war veterans, lecturers and students of the university attended the opening ceremony of the conference.
The NA Speaker in his word has noted that the victory won 70 years ago was the victory of the peoples' unity. Over six hundred thousand Armenians fought against German fascism and had their great contribution to the victory. Galust Sahakyan has stated that on the threshold of the 70th anniversary of the Victory marks the Armenian Genocide Centennial. In his word, there is an invisible link between the Armenian Genocide in the beginning of the century and the Great Patriotic War: millions of innocent Armenians have fallen victims of Turkish nationalism and anti-Armenian xenophobia.
The NA Speaker has congratulated the attendees on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, mentioning that we should keep the peoples' memory alive for winning and restoring the historical justice.
Let us note that before the opening ceremony of the conference the RA NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan and the RF FA State Duma Speaker Sergey Narishkin took part in the tree-planting ceremony in the newly opened alley of the Victory in the yard of Armenian-Russian (Slavonic) University as a sign of the two peoples' friendship.
