On November 6, the RA NA Chief of Staff-Secretary General Ara Saghatelyan made welcoming remarks in the 2nd Working Meeting of the Secretaries General of Parliamentary Administrations of the Eastern Partnership Countries going on in the RA National Assembly. In his speech Ara Saghatelyan particularly noted:
“Dear colleagues, friends,
I am glad to greet you on this warm December in Yerevan, at the 2nd Working Meeting of the Secretaries General of Parliamentary Administrations of the Eastern Partnership Countries.
I would like to express my gratitude for finding possibility and time and participating in our Working Meeting, will serve for the benefit of the two countries’ parliaments and peoples and become a platform of ideas and exchange of best experience.
I thank our German colleagues for the initiative and readiness of forming and strengthening our platform, I assure that we’ll do our best for providing its efficiency.
Unfortunately, our colleagues from Azerbaijan and Belarus are not with us at this meeting. It took place due to objective reasons: it is related to their personal loading, as well as the regulations that we have reached in Tbilisi. Nevertheless, our colleagues will be aware at best in working order about the procedure and results of the meeting in Yerevan, as well as by the principle of voluntarism, according to the agreements reached within the framework of Tbilisi Memorandum, will be engaged in the further cooperation processes.
Dear friends,
During the period of my tenure I have come to conclusion that the Secretary General-Chief of Staff of the parliament is not a work, but a mission. In our states in hierarchic aspect this ministerial Office with its essence is multi times complicated than the work of the majority of the ministers.
And we implement our mission of providing the institutional activities of the parliament, at the same time implement necessary reforms for tomorrow’s effective work and its development in the programme for the upcoming several years.
This is a mission, and we should always keep the necessary level for its implementation, be at the top of changes and often swim in opposite direction.”
