In Tirana, the capital of Albania, the delegation headed by RA NA Speaker Artur Baghdasaryan received the President of Albania, President of the Parliament and the Prime Minister.

During the private talk with Josefina Topalli, the Speaker of the Albanian Parliament, Mrs. Topalli informed the NA Speaker about the parliamentary elections being held in July 2005, in the result of which the newly formed parliament has chosen the president of the country, the coalition government of the country consists of four parties, which gained more votes in the elections. He highlighted the fact that Albania hands over the presidency of PABSEC to Armenia and expressed confidence that during its presidency Armenia will have its serious contribution to the region in solving the issues of concern.

NA Speaker Artur Baghdasaryan highlighted the establishment of the Armenian-Albanian ties, the regional cooperation and the partnership in international structures. After the visit parliamentary friendship groups will be created in two parliaments. An agreement was reached on signing an agreement on inter-parliamentary cooperation. Bith sides evaluated the official and working meetings, the exchange of information and legislative experience.

Alfred Moisiu, the President of Albania, received the delegation headed by NA Speaker Artur Baghdasaryan. The establishment and development of the political relations were discussed at the meeting. It was noted that in the globalizing world the cooperation in different spheres creates bases for development. Both sides highlighted the revelation of the political will, with which the trade-economic relations develop more easily. Mr. Moisiu evaluated the visit of NA Speaker as a good impetus for the development of relations.

During the meeting with Sali Berisha, Prime Minister of Albania problems pertaining the Armenian-Albanian trade-economic relations were discussed. Mr. Berisha, who is interested in the development of the relations with the region and Armenia, ensured that the geographical position and the Albanian legislation give enough bases for beneficial relations. They noted the possibilities of tourism, power, operating the natural wealth, investments of mutual investments. Both sides discussed the possibilities of visits and organization of business forums, during which the businessmen of two countries will get familiarized with the legislation and economic possibilities.
