“It is necessary to have an educated and developed society in order not to become a victim of misinformation”, the NA deputy of Civil Contract Faction, the Deputy Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Babken Tunyan said, meeting with the students of the National Academy of Sciences, Yerevan State University and the Public Administration Academy who were passing a probation period in parliament on February 23.
At the beginning of the meeting, the deputy introduced the students the details of the legislative body’s activity, the structure and the activity of the Committees, in particular, the process of revising laws, emphasizing the debates on the draft laws, the meetings with the citizens. He also spoke about the working agenda of the deputies.
Babken Tunyan referred to parliamentary diplomacy, noting that it is a very important and at the same time delicate and responsible work. In this context, he informed that the NA members of friendship groups and the members of the delegation representing our country on various international platforms do not miss the opportunity to raise the issues related to Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh.
The Deputy Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs answered the students’ questions. Referring to our country’s economic development, he highlighted making local products more competitive.
The students wondered how effective it is for Armenia as well to join the EAEU, the CSTO international organizations.
Speaking about Armenian-Turkish relations, Babken Tunyan emphasized relations and cooperation with neighboring states.
At the end of the meaningful meeting, the deputy urged the students to use their chosen profession to serve for our country’s interests.
