NA Standing Committee on Labor and Social Affairs Debates Draft Employment Strategy Programme

On April 14, the studies and action plan made for the revision of the Draft Employment Strategy Programme was debated during the organized working debate.

The draft was revised by the representatives of the RA Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the professional group.

The Committee Chair Heriknaz Tigranyan, touching upon the strategy for revision underlined that while revising the social structure if the community, which today exists in the Republic of Armenia – the employed, unemployed or seeking job citizens and the unemployment level.

The main strategic goals are four. The common one goal results in overcoming the poverty through employment and the benefit will be removed as applying poverty overcoming means.

Heriknaz Tigranyan noted that the Draft Employment Strategy Programme is under debate for the first time with the executive body, and it is of more cognitive character. She underscored that numerous debates have been at the stage of drafting an idea with the concerned departments, particularly, the RA Ministries of Economy, Education, Science, Culture and Sport and all crossing spheres.

“The employment is not merely a job and a remuneration, it is also an economy, an education, the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Labor and Social Affairs said.

According to the RA Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ruben Sargsyan, while revising the strategy big study was made at the first stage on the obstacles of the existing labor market situation, at the second phase the main targeted group were revised, the intermediate programmes regulating that issues of that group.

Ruben Sargsyan informed that the ideas on which there is agreement of all concerned sides, are already implemented.

According to Heriknaz Tigranyan, the draft there is need for some specification and proposed the attendees to have one more working debate with extended format and find solutions on problematic regulations.
