RA NA President Receives the Delegation of the Western Atrpatakan State of the Islamic Republic of Iran

On November 4 the President of RA National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan received the delegation of the Western Atrpatakan State of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) headed by the Governor Vahid Jalalzade. The RA NA Chief of Staff Gegham Gharibjanyan and the Governor of Armavir Ashot Ghahramanyan attended the meeting.

Greeting the guests the NA President Hovik Abrahamyan noted that the relations of Armenia and Iran were at very high level, which once again was confirmed by the visit of the President of the Iranian Parliament Ali Larijani to Armenia last month.

He expressed confidence that the cooperation of the marzes of Armenia and states of Iran would promote the strengthening of the relations between the two countries. Ghahramanyan attended the meeting. The NA President expressed hope that the treaty signed between the RA Armavir Marz and IRI Western Atrpatakan State would witness that, and the agreements reached during the visit of the Governor of the Western Atrpatakan would be turned into practical programme.

Expressing gratitude for reception the Governor of the IRI Western Atrpatakan Vahid Jalalzade noted that the mutual visits of the presidents and heads of the parliaments of the two countries witnessed of the high level of the relations between Armenia and Iran, and the establishment of the relations between the marzes and states would boost the rapprochement of those relations.

After the meeting answering the questions of the Iranian journalist the President of RA National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan highly assessed Armenia-Iran political and economic relations at the level of the two countries and presidents of the parliaments. He noted that there was big potential for activating and developing the existing economic relations, expressing conviction that the Armenian authorities would do their best for more strengthening those relations. Hovik Abrahamyan expressed willingness to promote that process as President of the National Assembly.
