Parliamentary Hearings in the National Assembly
1 / 4

On December 17 the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations held parliamentary hearings to discuss the agreements of the RA Government with the RF Government on the gas quality, gas loss, and the process on the accounting of the price formation resolution, purchase and sale of the Armenian share, the development of the diamond sphere and the creation of jobs.

Welcoming the attendees, the RA National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan noted that a few days ago they had discussed with the RA Prime Minister the programmes of the future cooperation, and it was decided to convene an extraordinary session on December 20, in relation with the agreements of quick ratification, which were directly connected with the Customs Union. As concerns were sounded on the agreements hence, it was proposed to the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations to organize parliamentary hearings.

The key reporter, the RA Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan, noted that as a result of negotiations, an agreement had been reached on the policy of defining the gas price. The key reporter answered the deputies’ questions, which referred to the agreements under discussion.

During the hearings the NA deputies delivered speeches on the abovementioned themes.

In his final speech Armen Movsisyan gave clarifications on the sounded viewpoints. The minister said that until 2018 the gas price for Armenia would remain unchangeable.

Summing up the hearings, the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Artak Zakaryan thanked the NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan for supporting the organization of the hearings. The Committee Chairman deemed important that in the upcoming years the price of gas would remain unchangeable which would serve as a good guarantee for the development of economy and investments.
