On June 5 the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs Koryun Nahapetyan met with Philipp Fluri, Deputy Director of the Geneva Centre for Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) and Davit Harutyunyan, Military National Politico-military Program Officer in OSCE Office in Yerevan.
In the course of the meeting the procedure of the implementation of the Action Plan for 2015 of the Geneva Centre for Democratic Control of Armed Forces, the further perspectives of cooperation and other issues were discussed.
The important directions of cooperation established in the Action Plan for 2015 stem from the Memorandum of Understanding which was signed between the Standing Committee and the Geneva Centre in 2012. Memorandum of Understanding is aimed at the rise of the efficiency of the democratic control in the spheres defense, national security, police and the management of emergency situations, as well as the development of the Committee capabilities. According to Memorandum, a number of events designed by the annual action program are implemented with the support of the OSCE Office in Yerevan.
