RA NA Speaker Artur Baghdasaryan had a number of meetings on the fringes of the CIS IPA plenary session.

RA NA Speaker and RF State Duma Chairman Boris Gryzlov discussed interstate and inter-parliamentary relations. The parties reached an agreement on official visit of RF State Duma Chairman to Armenia in spring 2005 when the development of bilateral relations will be discussed.

Mr. Baghdasaryan and Kazakhstan Senate Chairman Nurtai Abykaev pointed to significant potential for the development of inter-parliamentary relations, weighted cooperation in international structures, first inter-governmental committee meeting to be held in spring 2005 in Astana. Friendship groups exist at two parliaments; the parties stressed the necessity to transfer the partnership to a new, higher level. The sides also considered holding economic, cultural forums under the auspices of the two parliaments. Mr. Abykaev invited NA Speaker to Astana to find solutions to the issues discussed.
