On April 24, the delegation led by the President of the Central American Parliament Carolina Fernández that was in Armenia to take part in the commemoration ceremonies in memory of the Armenian Genocide victims, accompanied by the NA Vice President Alen Simonyan visited Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex.
The guests laid flowers at the eternal fire perpetuating the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims.
At the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, they got acquainted with the documents depicting the first calamity of the 20th century and observed the exhibits.
The President of the Central American Parliament and the members of the delegation left a note in the Memory Book of Honorable Guests.
Carolina Fernández noted that she as the President of the Central American Parliament arrived to be here on the Remembrance Day: “I think that if we remember and can recall, it will help to prevent such incidents from happening again. The photos and the written references seen in the museum are facts that cannot be denied. And that is the way through which we can make efforts to prevent such crimes against humanity from happening again. We must respect the memory of those who lost their lives, as well as stand by those people who tried to protect and do everything to prevent such incidents in future”.
Then the delegation visited Yerevan Municipality, participating in the “Endangered Heritage: Artsakh” exhibition opening ceremony.
More than 120 photos representing historical-cultural and spiritual heritage of Arstakh, manuscripts and carpets made in Arstakh, as well as the first book published in Shushi are presented in the “Endangered Heritage: Arstakh” exhibition.
The exhibition also includes photos from the archive of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the Research on Armenian Architecture (RAA) NGO, from the archive of the monument expert Samvel Karapetyan and from Mesrop Mashtots Matenadaran.
