At May 25 sitting, the parliament debated in the second reading the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Tax Code, and the subject of its regulation is the improvement of the tax environment of the agricultural and the consumer’s cooperatives. According to the RA Deputy Minister of Finance Arman Poghosyan, proposals have not been received by the MPs during the period from the first to the second reading. The Government has one proposal regarding the content, which was debated in the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs and was approved. It was also proposed to review the tax regulations of the realization of biologically safer means being applied against the plant pests. According to the amendment, the import and the further sale of the insects will be exempted from the Value Added Tax (VAT). Equal conditions will be created by the adoption of the draft law, encouraging the application of organic technologies in the sphere of agriculture.
