“Turkey Has Not Been Changed During 100 Years:” Eduard Sharmazanov Meets with Sergey Narishkin
1 / 4

On November 26 the RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov met with Sergey Narishkin, Speaker of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russia within the framework of the Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO PA).

Eduard Sharmazanov expressed concern about the crash of Su-24 warplane of the Russian Federation by the Armed Forces of Turkey and noted in particular: “To crash the warplane fighting terrorism means to support the terrorists. On the previous year the crash of the Armenian helicopter by the order of the criminal regime of Azerbaijan being considered little brother of Turkey, probably, created an impression for the political leaders of Turkey that similar gravest crimes could remain unpunished. As we know, the world changes, new political approaches, new situations get created, and during that period Armenia has proved that it is the ally of Russia that the Russian people for us are brotherly people. And Turkey, unfortunately, has not been changed during 100 years,” noted Eduard Sharmazanov.

Talking about multilateral cooperation, Mr Sharmazanov has informed that the RA National Assembly considers inadmissible the use of any punitive measure towards the MPs: it cannot be limited in the term ‘parliament.’ Eduard Sharmazanov has informed Sergey Narishkin that Armenia welcomes the adoption of the draft law envisaging the responsibility for the denial of the Armenian Genocide being in Duma during the last days, as he has noted, not giving an adequate assessment to the crimes of the past gives birth to new crimes, including, terrorist acts, which witness we now.

Sergey Narishkin thanked the Republic of Armenia for sup p orting the Russian Federation at international platforms. He has underlined that the sins, crimes and offences of the past should be condemned at its true worth, which will give opportunity to avoid the repetition of similar crimes. What refers to Turkey, Sergey Narishkin in his remarks particularly noted: Turkey has backstabbed us: that is typical for the cowards. Certainly, the guilty are not the Turks, but the political leadership of Turkey. And the political power of Turkey will still regret for that gravest crime.

Sergey Narishkin thanked the Armenian side for proposing to hold the Session of the CSTO PA Council in Yerevan in 2016. The interlocutors also touched upon the further works within the EEC format and reaffirmed the importance of the joint work.
