On March 4, at the sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs moderated by Koryun Nahapetyan the legislative package “On Amending the RA law on Civil Defence Subunits,” “On Amending the RA law on Weapon,” “On Amending the RA law on Civil Defence,” О n Amending the RA law on the Legal Regime of the Martial Law,” “On  Amending the RA law on Defence,” “On Amending the RA law on Rescue Service,” and “On Amending the RA law on Hydrometeorological Activities,” which submitted the RA Deputy Minister of the Emergency Situations Hayakaram Mkhitaryan, was debated.

Koryun Nahapetyan in his report highlighted the legislative proposal in terms of the rise of administration efficiency. He particularly also evaluated the formation of the territorial defence system, which in Mr Nahapetyan's opinion, will promote the solution of the numerous problems. The Committee Chairman urged his colleagues to vote for the proposal of the government.

The NA deputies had a number of questions regarding these amendments, which related the possible growth of the budgetary allocations conditioned by the legislative amendment, the human resource policy, the procedure of the system formation, the features of the leadership, the possible risks, etc.

The debate of the legislative package, the issues concerning the national security was held behind closed doors.

As a result of debates, the legislative package was endorsed to be included in the draft laws of the agendas of the NA session and the upcoming four-day sittings.
